Not really, no. I haven't really been doing any, actually. It seemed like this was the easiest thing to deal and I haven't really been helping the team, so... Uh, yeah.

I'm glad you have the sense not to then. Some of these are simply insulting. [He bristled when Leon called his robes dresses so he really wasn't amused by the idea of swapping clothes with a girl. So, he hadn't done too many of the tasks either.]

The only remotely acceptable thing today was to eat a whole pizza since I knew of a place that serves excellent dessert pizzas.

Dunno about sense, but some of it's just a pain in the ass to deal with.

For that matter, my list said to text "How was your day?" to a stranger. Perhaps, different teams were given different tasks.

But yes, there's a cafe in the pleasure gate that serves them although it is run by some of the local residents rather than those abducted by the Landlord.

Yes, since we didn't get the same tasks, it seems quite possible.

Have to have someone with you? I'm not aware of any establishment with such a requirement here. I often take my afternoon tea alone now that I don't have my shop and the animals...

Last time I went to that Moe cafe place, I was told that you had to someone with you by a couple of different people.

[ Mind you, this was someone else that showed up on their own, and another that enjoyed trolling their assigned 'child.' ]

That's odd. I visited a few times to sample their desserts but I have never heard of such a rule.

[Not nearly as many times as he's been to the Honeybee Cafe but still enough that he's sure he would have noticed if that were the case.]

Yes, I am known as Count D and I ran a pet shop of that name back in my own world, selling pets both common and exotic.

Exotic... Like what, tigers?

Yes, I did have a tiger in my shop and creatures even more exotic. A dragon, a totetsu, a kirin, they are all among the animals that have lived at my shop.

Uh... I've got no clue what those last two were. Togetsu and Karin?

The totetsu is a relative of the sheep with a man's face and a tiger's fangs. It's a very rare species that used to roam Ancient China. [He'll not mention the man-eating part...]

And the kirin is a beast of Chinese legend. Many emperors are said to have made pacts with them. The ruler who is selected by the kirin will have his desires granted by the creature.

Those're real? Huh...

[ There's a couple questions there, though. One being 'why the hell would a sheep want to have a man's face' but the pact thing seemed weird. ]

What's the kirin thing supposed to get out of those deals?

Of course. Although they are almost impossible to find, they are quite real.

[And he did say he had one in the shop, didn't he?]

The kirin is quite a ferocious beast. While it may grant desires, the cost isn't cheap... [And usually involves a good amount of blood being spilled...]

[ Well, it was more surprise than disbelief. Then again, it's a little hard to tell when it came to this guy. ]

So what, that's the only way it gets the stuff it needs? By getting stuck in those pact things all the time?

[ Sounds like it sucks to be a kirin. Then again, he doesn't really get how they're supposed to be able to grant desires in the first place. ]

That sucks.

If you are concerned for the kirin, it's a highly revered creature. Besides, it will only select a person it deems worthy as its master.

[So, it won't simply make a pact with just anyone.]

Sure, but why do it in the first place?

[ Maybe it's not as much about concern as it is surprise that something would go out of the way all the time. At least, that's how it seems. ]

Kirin are very compassionate creatures and will even tread carefully to avoid stepping on plants and insects. Perhaps, you could say that it's simply in their nature.
